Andrea’s Treats

The story behind Andrea’s Tasty Treats
“After becoming an empty nester, I did not know what to do with myself. I had devoted literally every minute to my children. Through lots of prayers, God laid it upon my heart to open a place with gourmet treats at a super accommodating price. A place where local under privileged families could go to experience treats that would normally only be experienced when on an expensive vacation. Let’s face it times are hard, people are struggling, and has become harder and harder for families to make it from week to week. I am hoping to help fill a gap that will allow families an affordable “mini”get away, even if it is for a short moment. So, I rounded my children up and excitedly they helped me build the tiki hut area and thus Andrea’s Tasty Treats was born June 2020. Built by my children, for other children.
We offer homemade ice cream and Hawaiian style shaved ice with homemade syrups, as well as, fresh baked waffle cones, banana splits, sundaes, smoothies, frappes, shakes, and malts. I truly try to have something for everyone.
Our hours are 12 pm to 7 pm, Sunday-Tuesday and 12 pm to 8 pm Wed.-Sat. We are located at the intersection of FM 744 and FM 667 in the township of Raleigh (8 miles from Dawson). Plug us into Apple or Google maps, either will direct you to us.
We look forward to see you soon! All welcome!”

“We will have you to know that we are more than a meat market, we are Americans/ Problem solvers. We cannot be silent in the mist of all this social, political, and economical chaos, something has to make sense, so we write to you other Americans. Where are the social scientists, the social philosophers, the educators, and those who call themselves our leaders? Where are they, when the American people are looking for answers and nothing make any sense. We write today to talk to you about freedom. True freedom is to overcome self, which is overcome by darkness and silence, and silence is evil best friend. The darkness is where most of us hide from the light of truth because most of us hate the light. When one live in darkness, one cannot reason, there is always a bad understanding, and violence is always on display. We all know people like this, the hell makers, those that like to play the victims, never having any solutions, only complaints, and more violence. We write to get the people to look at self, self is the one that one that we must overcome self is the one that says that we cannot defeat all the things that we are going through in this country today. What do you believe and how does one examine one self against the truth. Self and knowing that it is you that is the enemy and until one looks at self and defeat self freedom is impossible to achieve. Foundation is what the American need right now. If one says that they are a problem solver the one needs to start solving some problems.”
The Dawson Summer Youth Work Program is underway. “It is our goal to create a environment for the young people that compels them to learn the value of work, and working together in teams of other youth from different backgrounds, and life styles. In these days families are going hard times and our children need to learn how to help support their families in any way possible, things are different now in this country. Working in a garden shows that these young people are not afraid of hard work, they become employable to other people. We look strongly at character in these young people and how we can develop their personalities to know that self is family and community. People have asked us how they help, we’re going to need some garden hoes about twenty of them, somebody said that they were going to donate a case of gloves. We are going to need some rubber boots because the rain is not finished with us. For right now that is about it for as support for this summer youth work program. We have plenty of things to keep these youngsters busy this summer, people will offer these young people jobs that pay them well. We will keep you updated on the youth progress via videos and messages on this page. Thank you all for your support Dawson Meats.”
